In an age of polarization, listening to one another is a radical act. People’s history is concerned with the stories and lives rendered invisible by going undocumented and unheard. Inspired, among others, by Studs Terkel, the Federal Writers’ Project, and American Folklife Center, I believe in the importance of gathering, preserving and amplifying these voices. My hope is that we not only listen—but hear them.
